National Level Multi-stakeholder Dialogue on the Draft EIA, 2020

The draft EIA Notification 2020 is being discussed by various stakeholders who are attempting to understand and explain its implications. The Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change is accepting public recommendations, suggestions and objections until the 11th of August.

The Mandate Project is conducting a National Level Multi-stakeholder Dialogue on the 9th of August from 4:00-5:30 pm. Mr. Ritwick Dutta (environmental lawyer), Mr. R.N. Mehrotra (IFS, Former Head of Forest Department, Govt. of Rajasthan), Ms. Prerna Singh Bindra (environmental journalist), Dr. Narsimha Reddy (environmental consultant), Dr. L. Pushpa Kumar (environmental academician), and Ms. Radhica Kanniganti (environmental consultant) will be on the panel.

We would like to engage the panel in a multi-disciplinary dialogue to assess, provide constructive inputs, and find a way forward with regard to the proposed EIA notification, 2020. The panelists will share their views on various aspects of the draft Notification and will actively engage with other participants. The intention is to help everyone gain a fuller understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the Notification and make informed contributions to the public consultation.
